Intel quad-core motherboards to arrive next month

Intel and first tier motherboard makers are planning to release the first motherboards for the quad-core Kentsfield Core 2 Quadro processor next month.
As we have mentioned earlier in May this year, Intel has specially designed a board for their Kentsfield processor called the D975XBX2 (Bad Axe 2) and special optimizations have been made towards to FSB department as well as offering more and finer overclocking options.

For the motherboard makers, there will be more features on their quad core boards as well. We should be seeing a slight performance improvement when using Kentsfield on these quad-core boards but of course Kentsfield will run fine on the current Conroe ready boards out there now.

Certainly, Kentsfield will pair up even more nicely with the Bearlake P and G chipsets with 1333FSB and PCI Express 2.0 support slated for launch in Q2 next year. Bearlake-X and Bearlake-G+ will come later in Q3 with the support of the new DDR3 memories.
