Intel to launch budget processors under Pentium brandname

Be Hardware writes Intel will use Pentium as the sales name of the Conroe-L processors. These chips are mono core version of the Conroe with a smaller cache memory.

Specifications:
  • Pentium E1020 : 1.4 GHz, FSB800, 1 MB of L2 cache
  • Pentium E1040 : 1.6 GHz, FSB800, 1 MB of L2 cache
  • Pentium E1060 : 1.8 GHz, FSB800, 1 MB of L2 cache
  • They will arrive in Q2 2007.
