GeForce 7100 GS is just an old NV44 with a new driver

The Inq learned that NVIDIA's new GeForce 7100 GS isn't based on the G7x architecture, it's just an old NV44 GPU with a new driver.
So basically Nvidia re-branded its product, updated the drivers and went out to tell the world+dog that they had produced a new low-end card.

The good thing is that the new 7100 GS card costs just over €40 in German etail and you can grab one of the Xpertvision/Palit GeForce 7100GS retail cards for €41+shipping here or in Alternate computer store here.
