NVIDIA GeForce 8800 expected in November

Posted on Monday, October 02 2006 @ 14:43:51 CEST by

One of my sources told me this weekend that NVIDIA is planning to release the G80 GPU in the second or third week of November.

The G80 will be launched as the GeForce 8800 and will be the first DirectX 10 graphics card. Currently the company is planning to release two versions: the GeForce 8800 GTX and the cheaper GeForce 8800 GT. The GTX version may have up to 768MB DDR4 memory clocked at 1.5GHz. The expected retail prices are $649 for the GTX and somewhere between $399 and $499 for the GT.

ATI's first DirectX 10 graphics card is the R600 but according to the latest rumours this graphics card has been delayed to early 2007.
