Within a week or two NVIDIA will release the GeForce 8800. According to
The Inq the GeForce 8800 GTS will be sold for about $449:
For this amount of money, you will get a black PCB which is cooled by a dual-slot monster, albeit a silent one. On that PCB, there will be a chip with 700 million transistors, but with a quarter of units disabled - so, expect 96 Shaders, or "Stream Processors", as Nvidia is probably going to peddle them. They are clocked at 1.2GHz, while the rest of the GPU works at 500MHz. 640MB of GDDR3 memory is clocked at 800MHz DDR and it offers 64GB/s of bandwidth, all courtesy of a flexible memory controller, 320-bit wide in GTS.
