Palm Treo 680 launched for $199

The Palm Treo 680 was just released in the U.S. today for $199.99 if you purchase it with a two-year Cingular Wireless contract. The unlocked version of this smartphone is priced at $399.

The phone features Palm OS 5.4.9 and uses the Intel PXA270 312MHz processor. It has a 320 x 320 pixels display that supports more than 65,000 colors and has 64MB flash memory that users can use to save files. There's also support for removable MMC, SD and SD I/O memory cards.

There's GSM/GPRS/EDGE, quad-band and Bluetooth 1.2 wireless support but no Wi-Fi. The phone features a sample VGA camera with 2x digital zoom and sports a full QWERTY keyboard with backlighting.

According to Palm the li-ion battery will have a talk time of up to 4 hours and a standby time of 300 hours. The phone weighs 5.5 ounces (157g) and measures 4.4" H x 2.3" W x 0.8" D (113mm x 59mm x 21mm).
