Wikipedia reaches 1,500,000 articles

The English Wikipedia now contains more than 1.5 million articles. The total amount of pages is more than 6.5 million if you count all user profiles, templates, help pages, portals, discussion pages, image description pages and other non-article pages.

All versions of Wikipedia, there are more than 200, feature more than 5.75 million articles.

The English version is the biggest one, followed by the German and French Wikipedia which have close to 500,000 and 400,000 articles, respectively.

Since July 2002 users have made more than 93 million edits to Wikipedia, which is an average of 14.31 per page. The total amount of media files on Wikipedia is now more than 635,000 and there are now close to 2.85 million registered users and 1,066 administrators.
