X-bit Labs published the sixth part of their PSU roundups.
The more brands come to the PSU market and the tougher the competition becomes, the wider various marketing inventions are employed besides just technical advances and innovations. Unfortunately, besides experimenting with colorful box designs and accessories (well, it’s hard to expand a PSU’s accessories set beyond the customary set of a cable, a couple of braces, and a handful of stickers), the marketing department comes up with a technical lingo to bewilder the customer with mysterious terms and abbreviations.
In this part they take a look at the: Hiper Type M HPU-4M530-PU V1 (530W), Mushkin XP-650 (650W), OCZ GameXStream OCZGXS600 (600W) and OCZGXS700 (700W), Seasonic S-12 SS-500HT (500W), Silverstone Zeus SST-ST75ZF (750W) and SST-ST85ZF (850W), Zalman ZM460B-APS (460W) and the Zippy PSL-6720P(G1) (720W) and PSL-6850P(G1) (850W)
