HP beats Dell in Q3 2006

HP is now world's biggest PC maker. A report from market research firm iSuppli shows HP sold 9.86 million computers in the third quarter than this year, which is 16.7% more than last year. HP now has 16.5% of the market, while Dell has a marketshare of 16.3%.

Dell shipped 9.78 million PCs last quarter, only 3.4% more than last year.

The third largest PC maker is Lenovo with a market share of 7.5%. The Chinese computer marker shipped 4.48 million PCs in Q3 2006, which is 10.4% more than last year.
