Intel to spend $1 billion on WiMAX

Intel is going to invest a billion in WiMAX:
According to the Wall Street Journal, it has found a cool billion dollars this year to invest in startups and the like.

That's despite the fact that like the Grand Old Duke of York, it had 10,000 men (and women) who it marched right up to the front gate and wouldn't let in again.

The biggest investment this year, said the Journal, is in an operation called Clearwire to help push WiMAX.
