Wikipedia founder to start Wikiasari search engine

News leaked that the founder of Wikipedia will soon unveil a search engine called Wikiasari. This search engine may become a rival to Google and Yahoo.

The search engine will use the same user-based technology as Wikipedia and it will be launched in Q1 2007 in cooperation with Amazon.

The name Wikiasari sounds a bit weird, they got the name from 'wiki' which is Hawaiian for quick and 'asari', a Japanese word that means rummaging search. So Wikiasari means something like 'Making quick thorough searches'.

Fortunately Wikiasari.com won't be the only domain name for this search engine. A more easier-to-type-in Wikia.com is also available.
