Intel's upcoming quad-core Core 2 Quad Q6600 needs a lot of love. This processor will be released on January 8 and according to the rumours it has a thermal design power of 105W.

However, in the second and third quarter quad-core processors will move to the G-steping which will lower the TDP to 95W.

Starting from the G stepping all quad-core products, except the Extreme Edition, will feature a 95W TDP. This includes Kentsfield as well as the upcoming 45nm Yorkfield.
