Waterworld hotel architectural concept from Atkin

I found this on Digg, it's the design of a hotel that won the first prize in an international design competition.

Atkin Architecture Group designed the "Waterworld" creation. It's set in a water filled quarry in Songjiang, China. It's a nice example of what you can do with old useless quarry.

The design includes a 400 bed resort hotel, complete with cafes, restaurants and sporting facilities like a luxurious swimming pool on the lowest level.

There's also place for extreme sport activities like rock climbing and bungee jumping.

Very pretty :)

The drawings look awesome! I wonder if it will ever be built?
