A new cheaper GeForce 8800 GTS card is expected in mid-February.

This card will feature 320MB instead of 640MB.
Relying upon the support of leading Direct X10 technology and redesigned Unified Shader architecture, the high-end market whose price is more than $349 has turned to be the NVIDIA’s empire since GeForce 8 was released, according to the source. It is saying that Radeon X1950XTX is not a rival to GeForce 8. At the $249-299 price market, with certain performance amidst much cheaper prices, AMD Radeon X1950PRO/XT are still not too weak to tie NVIDIA’s products. Since AMD has scheduled its new high-end R600 in late Feb, featuring Direct X10 technology as well, NVIDIA has decided to launch a value edition of GeForce 8800GTS so as to strengthen the market, against the potential rival.
New high-end GeForce 8 graphics cards are expected in mid-April.
