NVIDIA GeForce 8600 Ultra and GT specifications

The NVIDIA GeForce 8600 series is already in production, according to Dutch site Tweakers who translated an article from a Chinese website called Beareyes.

The new GeForce 8600 Ultra and GeForce 8600 GT will replace the GeFroce 7600 GT and GeForce 7900 GS. They obviously support DirectX 10 and will be manufactured on a 80nm process.

Here's a look at the specifications:

GeForce 8600 Ultra:

• 500MHz core
• 1400MHz memory
• 256-bit memory
• 64 shaders
• 300 million transistors

GeForce 8600 GT:

• 350MHz core
• 1200MHz memory
• max 256MB memory
• 48 shaders

The GeForce 8600 GT will be priced at $149 and the GeForce 8600 Ultra at $179.
