Tech Hounds is taking a look at how well the GeForce 7900GS and Radeon X1950 Pro scale when
paired with a very overclockable processor like the Core 2 Duo E6300. From the
results, it would seem ATI - ahem sorry, AMD - have the better part overall. They
found the Radeon X1950 Pro can still push frame rates further, in reality closer
to the GeForce 7950GT. No wonder AMD is sweeping off the mainstream market.
With a new platform comes the decision to choose which processor, memory, chipset
and graphics cards to use. Our last article have answered some of the questions
we have related to memory and chipset hardware. Now, we're taking two mainstream
products - the GeForce 7900GS and the Radeon X1950 Pro to see which on offer more
headroom and performance when paired with a fast processor like the Core 2 Duo
E6300 running at 2.8 GHz.
