NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra coming on May 15 - priced at $999

NVIDIA is rumoured to be preparing a GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card. This card is said to be released on May 15th, with the first reviews hitting the web on May 1st.

It's said that this new 8800 will be a single-chip card with a price tag of $999.
Meanwhile, other sauces are giving the price point as a pant-wettingly massive $999. That's likely to translate to more than 600 pounds in real money, which is a bonkers amount to spend on a single component. However, it does suggest to us that the green team thinks that AMD will launch its highest-end R600 in the $1k region, since the guys in Satan Clara are clever enough not to price themselves out of the market.

Too much $$. No way at all I'd go for this.
