25% of teens willing to buy $499 iPhone

PiperJaffray conducted its 13th bi-annual teen survey. The researchers interviewed 500 high school students across the U.S. about their interests and buying patterns in portable music and online music.

Some of the things they found:
  • 85% knows the Apple iPhone
  • 25% wants to buy an iPhone for $499
  • 82% of the MP3 player owners have an iPod, Sony follows at a distant second spot with a marketshare of only 4%
