UMC has 90% yields on 90nm

DigiTimes reports UMC has seen yields on its 90nm production rise above 90%:

Currently clients using UMC's 90nm processes include Texas Instruments (TI), AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Xilinx, and Marvell, the sources said.

In the face of mounting competition, TSMC last year offered 15% discounts for some of its major clients with its 90nm production, the sources added.
