Motherboard shipments and revenue up

Taiwanese motherboard makers experienced growing unit shipments and higher revenue figures for March, this includes reports from MSI, ECS, Asus and Gigabyte.
Asustek reported consolidated March revenues of NT$88.02 billion (US$2.66 billion), an on-year growth of 159%, while Gigabyte reported consolidated revenues of NT$4.91 billion for a 22% on-year growth.

Asustek reported it shipped 5.34 million motherboards in March, while Gigabyte shipped 1.55 million units. MSI's shipments ranged from 1.60 million to 1.70 million units while and ECS shipped 2.32 million units during March.

Gigabyte expects its sales to hold level or slightly drop in the second quarter with the upcoming slow season, according to sources at Gigabyte.
