ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT benchmarks released

DailyTech benchmarked the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT graphics card against the GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB. The tests was done on a Intel D975BX2 BadAxe 2 motherboard with Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor and 2x 1GB DDR2 800MHz memory. The operating system was Windows XP and the ATI card used the Catalyst 8.361 RC4 drivers and the GeForce the ForceWare 158.19 drivers.

DailyTech says for some reason the HL2 results on the GeForce 8800 GTS were abnormaly low, they aren't sure yet what went wrong during the testing. This card will be launched within 2-3 weeks for $499.
