Apple working on iPhone nano?

HardOCP received info that Apple may be working on a second, smaller version of the iPhone:
Today, some people believe that this patent could simply point to another, small version of the iPhone. I say we let the first one hit the shelves and then figure this one out later.

Apple is going to launch a new product line with the iPhone next month. The newly discovered patent application of Apple describing a backside touch panel puts more weight to the prediction that Apple will at some point release a smaller iPhone.
