Intel is moving its Core 2 Extreme QX6800 CPU from the B-3 to the new G-0 stepping.

The first samples of the QX6800 on the G-0 stepping started shipping on May 11 and they will be available in volume by July 16.

The changes will require a BIOS update but the new stepping will offer consumers more overclocking headroom and a slighly decreased power consumption.
