AMDZone has posted up DirectX 9 benchmarks for Lost Planet since a lot of us are not interested in running Windows Vista quite yet.

When released earlier this year on Microsoft's XBox 360 console, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, was a surprise hit from Capcom in a normally very boring mid-January season. Produced by Keiji Inafune, the creator of the Onimusha and Mega Man series, it combines on foot action, first-person shooter controls, third-peron adventure elements as well as piloting mechs. The game also boasted some of the best visuals on the XBox 360 and luckly not long ago Capcom announced that the game was coming to the PC with DirectX9 and also DirectX10 support. This makes Lost Planet one of the if not the first retail game to support DX10. We were able to spend some time with the DirectX9 demo and benchmark it on a number of GeForce 8 video cards. The game includes a very handy internal benchmark.
