Market sources believe motherboard shipments will drop 3-5% this month:
In April, first-tier motherboard makers – Asustek Computer, Micro-Star International (MSI), Gigabyte Technology and Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) – combined to ship 8.8 million motherboards, down 18.7% from March, even though market watchers expected shipments to drop only 15%, the report noted.

The market sources predict Asustek's motherboard shipments in May will drop below 4.30 million units, down from 4.31 million in April, while Gigabyte Technology will see its shipments remain flat at 1.30-1.35 million units, the report indicated.
