Marcus 'Kinc' Hultin and last year's Price/Performance winner Jon 'Elmor' Sandstr?as been playing with NVIDIA's latest monster card GeForce 8800 Ultra this weekend. They managed to push an Intel C2E QX6700 to more than 5Ghz and run it through 3DMark 06 with the cards running at 800/1200 (far from the peak potential). The first time anyone has done it and it is currently the highest registered result at the ORB.

Quote: "Unfortunately, not all of the components wanted to play along, which limited Marcus and Jon somewhat, but they still managed to reach rather respectable 24604 points. This is the highest registered score at the ORB, but Kingpin has reached just more than 25,000 /.../ The processor was pushed to more than 5GHz, but unfortunately the motherboard didn't want to play along for any longer periods. This is the first time someone has pushed a quad-core (read Kentsfield) to more than 5GHz together with GeForce 8800 Ultra in 3DMark 06. Kingpin's record was set at 4880MHz."
