According to sources at motherboard makers the upcoming Intel X38 Express chipset runs pretty hot. VR Zone received a photo and reports the northbridge now needs a heatspreader, just like processors have one.
It runs up to more than 60 degrees in this case. However, motherboard makers will be designing fancy heatpipes for this board so there isn't too much a worry about heat. We will be seeing quite a number of X38 boards at Computex and there will be some designs that supports Intel Turbo Memory.
