Industry sources report Intel Santa Rosa-series processors will get price cuts of over 30% in the third quarter of this year:
Intel plans to lower prices of its T7500 and T7700 by almost 24% and 32%, respectively, the sources noted.

In the meantime, the company will roll out its highest-end X7900, high-end T7800 and entry-level T7250 CPUs, with the T7250 to be priced at US$210 per thousand units, the sources added.

After hitting the market in the beginning of May, the Santa Rosa platform did not promote strong demand to replace existing notebooks in the end user-market, the sources said. Newly-released notebooks supporting the platform mostly incorporate entry-level CPUs such as T7100 and T7300 while very few adopted the T7700, the sources explained.
