6th gen iPod to arrive in January?

Analysts from Piper Jaffray believe Apple's 6th generation iPod will be launched in January 2008.
Their predictions don't exactly encompass anything we haven't already heard, though: they expect the iPods to be based on Mac OS X, and carry the iPhone's wide, touchscreen interface. The "true" video iPod, as it were.

These predictions follow earlier reports that Apple was planning to hold off on its next generation video iPod for fear of cannibalizing sales of the iPhone. AppleInsider's sources at that time said that the company didn't plan to launch such an iPod until the third quarter of the year or later, as to sufficiently distance itself from the iPhone.
