AMD Quad-Core Opteron (Barcelona) Technology Report

Posted on Sunday, July 22 2007 @ 20:07:46 CEST by

AMD has been very tardy with the Barcelona. Countless AMD fans have eagerly waited for the new processor. Now that AMD is finally set to launch the Barcelona next month, are you ready for it?

As the day draws closer, we take a look at the new Barcelona processor to hit the market - the upcoming quad-core AMD Opteron. Is there more to it than just its four processing cores? Will it be the Intel-killer that AMD promised long ago?

"AMD is in the same boat as ATI. Although that wait will end in August, 2007 when the Barcelona is finally launched, it remains to be seen if AMD's new processor will be able to inflict serious damage to Intel's dominance."
