This RS780 series chipset will feature DirectX 10 support, HyperTransport 3.0, UVD, 45nm processors and AVIVO HD.
It should become available next year and will replace the AMD 690G/V chipset.
For discrete chipset, the RD790 will support the Phenom and CrossFire 2.0 (formerly known loosely QuadFire) with 4 GPUs working in tandem. PCIe 2.0 s supported with double the bandwidth. RD790 supports 32 lnaes for graphics (4x4 or 2x16) and 6 pcie x1. A PCIex4 connects NB and SB.Source: OCW
