AMD Montreal - eight-core K11 processor

AMD is working on a eight-core Montreal processor, FUD Zilla reports. This K11 processor will succeed Shanghai in late 2008 or early 2009 and will be the first AMD server processor with DDR3 support.
This CPU will support socket G3 and 6MB L3 cache and it will want registered DDR3 only. The second iteration made of two Quad cores stitched together will be AMD’s first octa core. The new CPU will have total of 12 MB cache and will as well fit in socket G3.
