Lenovo announced its new ThinkPad Reserve Edition to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the ThinkPad notebook line. Only 5,000 units of this leather-bound notebook will be sold and they will be quite pricey, Lenovo says the ThinkPad Reserve Edition will sell for $5,000.

For this price buyers will receive 36 months of executive class services, this includes a dedicated service representative and over-night replacements. The notebook features a 12.1" LCD display, a Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 2.2GHz processor, 160GB HDD, 2GB memory, WiFi, Bluetooth and wireless connectivity over cell phone networks. It runs Windows Vista Ultimate and should have a battery life of up to seven hours.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Reserve Edition looks a bit like a large leather-bound book but to be honest I don't think the design of this notebook looks good - especially on the sides it looks very odd.

Besides the looks I'm also a bit concerned about how this design will handle heat - but according to Lenovo it won't be a problem.
