NVIDIA G92 mainstream or high-end?

First it was believed that the NVIDIA G92 would be a new high-end GPU, possible one that would be much faster than the GeForce 8800 series. Later we heard rumours that the G92 wouldn't be a high-end part but a mainstream GPU, which would be launched as the GeForce 8700 GTS.

Today the rumour mill flips again, according to FUD Zilla the G92 will in fact be a high-end GPU. The chip is slated for mid-November and will be a faster 65nm version of the G80 core.

The site also heard a rumour about another 65nm G9x GPU, possible the G96. They didn't mention any specifics of this GPU but perhaps this is the new mainstream GPU - if the rumour about the G92 being a high-end chip is true.
