ATI Radeon 2900 PRO coming this month?

We got some more rumours for you. FUD Zilla claims ATI will quietly roll out a new R600PRO GPU later this month.

This graphics card will be known as the Radeon 2900PRO and will be available in retail stores for about $249.

The Radeon 2900 PRO will feature a performance between the GeForce 8600 GTS and GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB:

The card will be priced $249 at launch and the card will be faster than the Geforce 8600GTS cards, even the overclocked ones.

It won’t be enough to beat the Geforce 8800 GTS 320MB and you will still need a Radeon 2900XT to go against this card. The cards will silently show up in the channel some time in the middle of the month and some partners might do some PR thing about it, but AMD won't make a big deal out of it.
