Intel announced an AMD Fusion competitor at the IDF in San Francisco today.

The firm says the 45nm Nehalem processors, which may arrive next year, will feature integrated graphics:
Intel just confirmed that integrated graphics on a CPU comes on 45nanomere with Nehalem CPUs. This will be the real competition for the Fusion concept and it might even be out on the market earlier.

This product is scheduled for late 2008 or early 2009 just about the time to compete with Fusion.
Performance-wise it should be faster than today's IGPs.
