HP business notebooks to get SSDs

HP says it will offer business users the option to put a solid state disk in their notebook.

Starting from next month this offer will be available on the HP Compaq 2710p, 2510p, 6910p and 8000 series. Other models will follow too.

The SSD has a capacity of 64GB and is much more reliable than a regular hard drive. Furthermore it's also lighter and uses less power. The biggest drawback is the price, HP says the SSD option will add about $1,000 to the price of a laptop.
