Firefox 3 phishing filter sends URLs to Google

Slashdot users warn about the new antiphishing feature in the upcoming Firefox 3 "Gran Paradiso" browser.

The problem is that the new phishing filter checks every URL against a known list of sites by sending each URL to Google. Some people fear this may hurt your privacy and will provide Google with a wealth of information about which sites are popular on the web.

Fortunately, the option will be disabled by default.
