Here's some more juicy graphics card news from EXPreview. The site managed to get their hands on a GeForce 8800 GT 512MB this week and compared it to the GeForce 8800 Ultra.

They used the following test system:
  • Intel Q6600 overclocked to 3600MHz (400MHz x 9)
  • NVIDIA 650i Ultra based motherboard
  • DDR2-800 memory running at 5-5-5-15
  • Windows XP SP2
  • NVIDIA ForceWare 167.26 drivers
  • Here are the results. They ran 3DMark06 with a 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution, 4x AA and 8x AF:

    3DMark06 8800 GT 512MB 8800 Ultra 768MB
    3DMark score 9648 11611
    SM 2.0 score 3982 4643
    HDR/SM 3.0 score 3343 4391
    CPU score 5544 5529

The scores look pretty good if you take in mind that the 8800 GT will cost much less than the Ultra card.
