Windows 7 kernel should be less bloated

Microsoft engineer Eric Traut talked about the development of Windows 7 during a presentation at the University of Illinois. You can check out the presentation over here but unfortunately the site is not reachable at the moment because their servers are overwhelmed by thousands of visitors from places like Slashdot.

One of the things Traut talked about is that the next version of Windows will be more efficient. He says Microsoft has an internal project called "MinWin" which aims to shrink the big Windows kernel to a much smaller and efficient version.
