Wal-Mart started selling a new low-end PC from Everex that costs only $199. The Everex gPC TC2502 features Ubuntu 7.10 with an Enlightenment E17 interface and comes preinstalled with OpenOffice.org 2.2, Firefox and other applications.

The system isn't really powerful, and for $199 you also won't get a display or a DVD burner. The system features a low-voltage VIA C7-D 1.5GHz processor, 512MB RAM and a 80GB HDD. Speakers, mouse and keyboard are included.
