"Abit and NVIDIA continue to collaborate"

Sources close to NVIDIA in the United States and Asia denied presumable cancellation of partnership between the Santa Clara, California-based IC designer and well-known Taiwanese mainboard manufacturer. Apparently, both companies will continue to collaborate in future.

“It sounds and looks like a misinformation. NVIDIA’s representative in Taiwan and the USA are not informed about this decision. ABIT has just gotten samples for nForce3, so, I guess we have to wait and see,” said a source wanting to preserve its anonymity.

“There will be two NVIDIA-based product lines in ABIT’s roadmap, but I do not think I can elaborate on the matter at this point,” the source added.

There is no information about the future of ABIT’s GeForce line of products, but there is a distinct conformation of the coming nForce3-based mainboards family from ABIT. The source yet another time confirmed ABIT's intentions to produce XGI and ATI-based graphics cards.

At least, the Taipei, Taiwan-based manufacturer is now very likely to release its nForce3-based mainboards for AMD64 microprocessors in addition to its platforms powered by VIA shipping now. This contradicts to the previous statement regarding total annulment of NVIDIA-ABIT partnership.
