SentrySafe unveils first waterproof and fire resistant HDD

SentrySafe is expanding into new markets with the launch of world's first fire resistant and waterproof hard drive.

The new SentrySafe Fire-Safe is a hard drive enclosure that features the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini hard drive. The enclosure can be fully submerged into water for up to 24 hours and offers 30 minutes of fire protection with temperatures of up to 1550 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • The enclosure measures 19.5cm x 16.8cm x 28.6cm and weighs 5kg. The SentrySafe Fire-Safe Waterproof HDD is available in 80GB and 160GB capacities, priced at $259.99 and $319.99, respectively.

    The firm also released a new safe designed to keep data safe. The Fire-Safe Water Resistant Safe features USB connectivity and allows you to use your own 2.5" HDDs.
