Toshiba announced this week that the release of its first OLED displays has been delayed to 2009 or 2010.

The firm claims the cost to mass produce these ultra-thin panels for TVs is still too high.

Toshiba spokesman Keisuke Ohmori says Toshiba will stick to its plan to make OLED displays for phones and will see if OLED TVs are financially viable later.
