Asus Eee PC selling better than expected

Posted on Saturday, December 22 2007 @ 02:25:23 CET by

Asus says Eee PC shipments are very strong. Industry watchers expected Asus to ship 300,000 units but Asus says they've already shipped 350,000 units:
The Eee PC will also extend its presence further in the beginning of next year with the product becoming available at Best Buy in the US while sales will also kick off in Japan, the sources noted.

In related news, with China's new labor laws coming into enforcement in 2008, Jonney Shih, CEO of Asustek commented that the company expects to face new challenges. However, the company has not yet finalized its plans to build plants outside of China since the investment will be huge. The company is still evaluating the feasibility of establishing plants in regions such as Mexico, Vietnam and South America, Shih said.
