According to Asian sources Asus is aiming to ship 1 million Eee PC notebooks in the first quarter of 2008:
Asustek Computer has recently placed emergency orders with its component suppliers for its Eee PC shipments in January and the company expects shipments for the month may reach 300,000 units, while the number could reach one million units for the first quarter of 2008, according to a Chinese-language Apple Daily report.

With Asustek setting a goal to ship five million Eee PCs in 2008, the company expects the Eee PC will surpass motherboards to become the second largest contributor to company revenues in 2008, noted the paper.
