Business market to stick to 17-inch displays

LCD display makers claim businesses aren't likely to switch to 19" LCD displays yet:
Average selling prices (ASP) for 17-inch monitor panels is around US$133 at present, up 30% from US$100 at the beginning of 2007 amid limited supply. Prices for 19-inch widescreen monitor panels are around US$135 at present, according to market sources.

Purchasing practices of monitors between enterprises and consumers is different. Some enterprises are signing two to three year long-term contracts with brand makers amid strong demand. Unless companies are changing their suppliers, it is unlikely 19-inch widescreen models will replace 17-inch or 19-inch monitors in the short term, said the panel makers.
