LCD panels in short supply this year?

DigiTimes writes the supply of LCD panels will fall short of demand this year due to a shortage of glass substrates:
The supply of LCD panels will certainly fall short of demand in 2008 as a continued shortage in the supply of glass substrates will limit makers' efforts to ramp capacity, according to Joe Chou, president of HannStar Display.

The supply of grass substrates in 2008 will be tighter than that in 2007, affecting 5G, 6G and 7G production lines at panel makers, Chou indicated.

Starting relatively slow in January, LCD panel vendors will see demand start picking up in February before a upturn in March, Chou projected.
