DigiTimes heard Asus will outsource over 50 percent of its branded motherboard to outside OEMs by the end of this year. The firm will also outsource about 15 percent of its notebook production.
Although Asustek and its ODM division, Unihan Technology, have already separated, market watchers commented that Asustek's outsourcing ratio to Unihan is still very high, which indicates that the spin-off is still not complete, noted the paper.

However, Jerry Shen, president of Asustek, pointed out that the company will prioritize the outsourcing of non-notebook products first, added the paper.
