To counter NVIDIA's GeForce 9600 GT graphics card AMD will lower the prices of its Radeon HD 3850 and 3870 graphics cards:
Given the new card could quite easily take away much of the success that is the HD 3850 and HD 3870 it competes with, AMD swiftly counteract this by introducing price cuts to the aforementioned cards which will be first noticed in the U.S. followed by the rest of the world.

The HD 3870 will see a price drop from $244 to just $189, whilst the HD 3850 will take a smaller dive from $199 to $169.
